Perimeter photos

Having a great time here -- the Perimeter Institute is its own little world of theoretical physics!

Thanks to Blackberry founder Mike Lazarides, whose generous donations were largely responsible for creating this place.

I see you didn't take any pictures of the foosball table... Just let me know if you want to play a quick game in the morning.

Pretty cool. I wish someone in the US had the same initiative.

A favorite quote of mine from Lazarides goes something along the lines of (major paraphrase here)

Questioner: What was the secret to Blackberry's success?
Lazarides: I built my office across the street from the gold mine.
Questioner: What?
Lazarides: We built our office across the street from the University of Waterloo and the students basically had to walk around our offices to get anywhere.

Seems like a waste of money to me. Welfare for a bunch of second rate theorists who couldn't hack it in string theory. At least that's what Lubos told me.

There are string theorists at Perimeter.
