Terence Tao

We have Fields medalist Terence Tao on campus to give the Moursund Lectures this week. His blog is here.

At dinner I got him to sign my copy of his book Solving Mathematical Problems, which I bought hoping it might someday help interest my kids in math :-)

This article describes Tao's remarkable intellectual development, as well as that of another mathematical prodigy, Lenny Ng (son of UNC physicist Jack Ng, who did his PhD with Julian Schwinger).
